About

Sometimes we’re up, sometimes we’re down, and sometimes we’re on the floor. My goal as a painter is to depict real emotions from real life, even if those emotions are unpleasant. I want to connect to other people in an authentic manner and to let you know: Whatever you’re feeling, you’re not alone.

I am a painter and writer living in Austin, Texas. I was raised in Mississippi, where women are taught to look pretty and keep their mouths shut. I’m over that now. I am a former journalist and legal writer with a passion for mental and physical health care for women and the safety of women everywhere.

My Process

I work primarily with acrylic paint on cut canvas. When a painting is finished, I mount it to a cradled birch panel and paint the sides for a finished, seamless look that is ready to hang.
